Our Armagh Bramley Apple Powder is made entirely from Bramley apples grown within a small, designated area which has its own microclimate and produces the unique Armagh Bramley — a variety with Protected Geographical Indication status. Our unique Bramley apple powder is made from the whole apple including the peel and cores. Scientific reports indicate that the peel can be the most beneficial part of the apple. Likewise, the cores provide a healthy source of fibre. Bramley has a unique flavour due to the high level of malic acid and low level of sugar. The apple peel and cores are very gently dried to retain the nutrients in an environmentally friendly and low carbon process. As well as being high in soluble fibre, our apple powder is high in vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin) and B6. It is also high in antioxidants. Our process utilises the smaller nutritent rich Bramley apple and constitutes a sustainable and environmentally friendly food with major health benefits.

Joe Garvey
Founder
Joe is Chair of Richmount Rural Community Assocoation. He has a background in social housing but is also from a family of five generations of apple growers in Coharra, Portadown. Joe is an active apple grower and his family are also engaged in apple growing. Joe saw how some apples were discared because they were too small but these were often the most nutritious apples and should not be lost to the food chain. He felt that these could be used as a base for a social enterprise that would not only support the local community but also make sustainable food and create health products but also support the environment.
